NEBOSH Exams

The NEBOSH Exam process is something that all potential candidates need to understand in order to get the most from their studies. Exams are held four times per year on dates set by NEBOSH. They are held the first Wednesday of March, June, September and December.

How are the exams administered?

The exam is broken down into three parts, NGC1, GC2 and GC3. The first two parts consist of ten short answer questions and one long answer question. Each of the unit exams are held on the same day. You will have two hours to complete each exam. The third part of the exam process, the GC3, is a practical application based on your current work place. You can find out additional information on the NEBOSH website or simply contact us.

Where do I take my exam?

Although we hold our exams in Hull, the 2017 UK City of Culture, we can arrange for you to sit your exam at hundreds of locations across the UK and abroad. With access to the British Council network as well as global university systems, finding a place for you to take your exam is not a problem. We offer you special guidance and assistance to help find an exam facility that is close to you. You may be charged an additional sitting fee for taking your exam at an alternate NEBOSH accredited exam facility, but that charge should be nominal.

How much is the exam?

The NEBOSH NGC exam is fee is £107. This fee covers all three parts of the exam. Exam fees are not part of your course fees. We don’t collect your exam fees until you book your exam.

Like we mentioned above, if you sit your exam overseas or at an alternate location here in the UK, you may be charged a nominal sitting fee.

What if I fail the exam?

Perhaps you had a bad day and didn’t pass your exam. You can re-sit them as many times as you wish. You will have to pay the exam fees again though. Once thing to keep in mind though, once you pass one part of the exam, you don’t have to re-sit it. You only have to re-take the part you failed (as long as it’s within five years).
